Eurasian Symposium on History, Language, and Cultural Studies

Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan met with academicians from various universities across Türkiye as part of the Eurasian Symposium on History, Language, and Cultural Studies.

The meeting held at the KTMU Senate Hall, was attended by numerous scholars from Amasya, Anadolu, Ankara, Ardahan, Atatürk, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf, Gaziantep, Hatay Mustafa Kemal, Iğdır, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Samsun 19 Mayıs, Sinop, Trakya, and Yalova Universities.

Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized that KTMU is an international university established through the joint initiative of the Republic of Türkiye and the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighting its multinational structure that brings together students from the Turkish world and various other regions. He stated that the university places great importance on academic productivity and international collaborations in line with its quality-focused educational approach.

Dean of the Faculty of Language, History, and Geography at Ankara University Prof. Dr. İrfan Albayrak described Manas University’s achievements as a source of pride both institutionally and internationally, adding, “When we visit here, we do not feel like guests in a foreign environment; instead, there is a strong sense of belonging, as if we are at home.

During the meeting, topics related to the Eurasian Symposium on History, Language, and Cultural Studies were discussed, along with potential academic collaborations between universities, joint projects, and scientific studies. The parties exchanged views on expanding joint activities, particularly in the fields of history, language, and culture.

Turkish History, Language, and Culture to Be Addressed in a Multidisciplinary Symposium at KTMU

Building on the 2023 Turkish World Ancient Studies Workshop organized by KTMU, this year’s Eurasian Symposium on History, Language, and Cultural Studies, organized in collaboration with the Turkish Historical Society and Ankara University—aims to bring together current scientific research on the history, language, and culture of the Turkish world and create a multidisciplinary forum for discussion. The symposium will host 65 academicians from the Turkish world, including participants from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Türkiye. 

The program, to be held on March 24-25 at the Kasym Tynystanov Conference Hall of the Faculty of Humanities, will include more than 50 presentations on topics such as: Written Sources and Archaeological Materials in Turkish World Historical Research, The Future and Digitalization of the Cultural Heritage of the Turkish World, Migrations in the History of the Turkish World from Antiquity to the Present, Past, Present, and Future of Turkish Language Studies, Studies on Ancient Turkish Sciences and the Future of the Turkish World.
