Panel Discussion on Cancer Treatments with a Multidisciplinary Approach Held at KTMU
On 11 December 2025, a panel discussion by leading doctors from Türkiye titled “Multidisciplinary Treatments of Breast Cancer and Urological Cancers” was held at the Rectorate Conference Hall of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU).
The event was attended by KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İsmet Altıntaş and Prof. Dr. Kamalbek Karymshakov, Secretary-General Dr. Fatih Ramazan İstanbullugil, Chief Physician of Bishkek Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital Specialist Dr. Adlan Olsun, staff from Şehit Eren Bülbül Health Center, as well as many academicians, administrative staff, and students from the Faculty of Medicine.
“The Turkic World is One Whole and All its People Are Valuable to Us”
In his opening speech, KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan expressed his gratitude to the doctors who came from Türkiye, stating: “It is a great honor for us to be together with Turkish doctors who have extensive experience and have achieved significant success in their fields. As Manas University, our main approach is not only to host our guests but to welcome them as an inseparable part of our university.”
Drawing attention to the unity of the Turkic world, Prof. Dr. Ceylan added: “The Turkic world is a whole, and all its people are valuable to us. It is not enough to love a geography from afar; one must see it, share the same feelings, and establish sincere bonds with its people.”
Referring to the developments related to the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ceylan concluded his speech by saying: “For a long time, we have strived to achieve our important goal of establishing a Faculty of Medicine. Today, we have reached this goal and started accepting students. The Faculty of Medicine has strategic importance; therefore, we aim to collaborate with esteemed academicians and build a strong academic structure.”
The panel discussion continued with sessions moderated by General Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Fatih Ağalar. During the sessions, Prof. Dr. Fatih Ağalar, Urology Specialist Prof. Dr. Cemil Uygur, Medical Oncology Specialist Prof. Dr. Türkan Öztürk Topçu, and Plastic Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Osman Kelahmetoğlu shared multidisciplinary treatment approaches, including early diagnosis, surgical interventions, oncological treatments, and reconstructive surgery methods for breast and urological cancers.
At the end of the event, Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan stated that the panel was highly productive and thanked all participating doctors from Türkiye. He emphasized that the event contributed significantly to raising health awareness and to the effective provision of healthcare services for patients. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the participating doctors who made significant contributions.
