A seminar titled “The Effects of Recreational Fishing on Individuals” was held at our faculty.
The seminar was conducted by Lecturer Aydar Akmatov on March 24, 2026, at 16:00 in Conference Hall 16 of our faculty. The event focused on the impact of recreational fishing on individuals, as well as its key psychological effects.
Topics discussed included mental relaxation and stress reduction, self-confidence and sense of achievement, mental focus (meditative effect), contributions to physical health, socialization and social bonding, and mental detox.
It was emphasized that recreational fishing provides psychological relief, helps individuals escape daily stress, teaches patience, and supports finding peace in nature. In terms of physical activity, it allows spending time in fresh air, walking, and staying active. As a hobby and social activity, it can be practiced individually or in groups and is exciting even for beginners. It also offers an opportunity to connect with nature by spending time by the sea or lakeside.
At the end of the seminar, participants were offered raw fish sandwiches, creating an unusual and memorable closing experience.
